Sarah Catherine "Kate" Friend and husband David P. Sines. "Kate" (1850 ~ 1926) is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) & Henry Amos Friend.

David (1845 - 1920 is the son of Olivia (Markley) & Henry Beryl Sines Sr.

Both were born and married in Sang Run, Garrett County, Maryland. Kate and David moved to Upshur County West Virigina about 1873 with her parents and his aunt & uncle Eliza (Johnson) & William Jonas Sines. (Her mother and his Aunt Eliza are sisters)

The three households all settled in the remote Banks District of Upshur, just outside the tiny community of Goshen.

Hanson (1862 ~ 1905) is the son of Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) & Henry Amos Friend.

He was born in Garrett Co. MD and went to Upshur Co. WV with his parents about 1873.

Hanson married Miss Rebecca Cecilia Strader (1856 ~ 1935) in 1881, the daughter of Rebecca (Kepel)

& Jacob S. Strader.

They had 5 sons Jasper Albert, Coleman L., Lloyd Tambolyn, Elijah Emery,

Nathaniel C. Friend and 1 daughter Sarah Ellen (Friend) Fitzgerald.

Rebecca "Becky" Cecilia (Strader) Friend

Becky (1856 ~ 1935) is the daughter of Rebecca (Kepel) & Jacob S. Strader. She married Hanson Friend, son of Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) & Henry Amos Friend, in Upshur Co. WV in 1881.
